Pepperpot Players Present When The Cat's Away

The Pepperpot Players present ‘When The Cat’s Away’. This play grew from the 1970s comedy TV series ‘George and Mildred’ and was penned by the same writing team of Johnnie Mortimer and Brian Cooke.

George and Mildred Roper are now living in middle-class Hampton Wick where Mildred is upwardly mobile and George is stubbornly heading in the opposite direction. Mildred is planning to take George on a second honeymoon to France but he is very reluctant, having not been too keen on the first.

Mildred’s sister, Ethel, complicates matters by seeking refuge with them after her lothario husband, Humphrey, has an affair. It all starts to unravel for George when he is left alone with Humphrey and events take a turn for the worst.

Book your seats for this hilarious comedy brought to you by the Pepperpot Players who were last at Shanklin Theatre in May with the comedy ‘You’re Only Young Twice’. If you liked that, then you’ll love this !
