CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

To ensure you enjoy your show and remain safe, please follow the guidance below on Covid-19 and Social Distancing Precautions

Before You Leave

Temperature check 

Take your temperature before travelling. If your temperature reading is 38°c or above, or you have a new continuous cough you should stay at home and contact the Box Office who will be able to provide you with your ticket and refund options. You will not be able to enter the Theatre or attend the performance. 

Face coverings 

During your visit you are required to wear a face covering at all times, except when eating and drinking. If you do not have a face covering we will have disposable face coverings available (donation optional). Children under the age of 3 are not required to wear a face covering and face coverings are optional for children up to the age of 11.

When You Arrive

Enter via the doors at the front of the Theatre

On arrival at the venue please join the queue (if there is one) at the entrance doors, observing direction signs. Once in the queue please ensure you maintain a safe distance from others.  Staff will be on hand to assist you. 

Ticket checks 

Please have your tickets ready for checking by our front of house staff. 

Temperature checks 

Our staff member will check your temperature. Only one person can be assessed at one time so please wait to be called forward. If your reading is 38°c  or above you will be asked to stand aside for 5 minutes and then your temperature will be taken again. If your temperature remains at 38°c  or above you will not be able to enter the Theatre or attend the performance and our staff will inform you of your options.    

Hand sanitiser 

You will be asked to sanitise your hands before moving into the Theatre. 

Face coverings 

Face coverings must be worn in the Theatre at all times, unless you are eating or drinking. If you are exempt from wearing face coverings please advise our Front of House staff member. If you have not brought a face covering and you are not exempt you will be provided with a disposable face covering (donations optional). 

Taking your seats 

Once you and your party enter the Theatre you will be shown to your allocated seat. You must stay in your allocated seat. All seats have been allocated in line with current social distancing guidelines. We ask you to keep movement around the Theatre to a minimum: to get refreshments or use the toilet facilities only. If you need to move around the Theatre please ensure you follow the arrows and any guidance from our staff.

During Your Visit

Keep your distance 

During your visit please ensure you maintain a safe distance from others.

Follow the routes 

When moving around the Theatre, please follow the clearly marked routes to help maintain safe distancing. We’ve installed easy to follow floor markings and signage to assist you. 

Interval Drinks

Interval drinks may be ordered from the table at the front of the auditorium. Drinks will then be brought to your seat during the interval. Card payment preferred.

Sweetshop and Ice-cream

The Sweetshop will be open – card payment preferred. Ice-cream will be on sale during the interval – cash or pre-purchased voucher payment only.

Using toilet facilities 

Our toilets are open for use. Please ensure you move from your seat and back to your seat using the clearly marked routes in the Theatre and maintain your distance if queuing for the toilets.  Please wash your hands before and after using toilet facilities and sanitise your hands using the products provided.

Our staff will be on hand during your visit to provide guidance around the Theatre. If you have any questions or feedback on your experience, don’t hesitate to chat to one of them. 

When You Are Leaving

After the show 

At the end of the performance please stay in your seats until directed by our Front of House team. You will be asked to exit in a controlled manner to help maintain social distancing.

FOLLOWING THE LATEST GUIDELINES FROM THE UK GOVERNMENT REGARDING SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIREMENTS AND THE IMPACT THIS CONTINUES TO HAVE ON THEATRES, WE ARE IN CONSTANT CONTACT WITH THE PRODUCERS AND AGENTS OF THE SHOWS SCHEDULED TO COME TO SHANKLIN THEATRE.   REGRETABLY, THESE CURRENT REQUIREMENTS STILL MAKE IT IMPRACTICAL TO PUT ON THE MAJORITY OF PRODUCTIONS

WE ARE THEREFORE WORKING WITH THE PRODUCERS AND AGENTS CONCERNED TO RESCHEDULE THIS FABULOUS LINE UP OF SHOWS.  IF YOU HAVE TICKETS, WE WILL BE CONTACTING YOU AS SOON AS WE HAVE ANY NEWS.

WE HAVE A BOX OFFICE TEAM DEALING WITH RESCHEDULED AND CANCELLED SHOWS, BOOKINGS AND GENERAL ENQUIRIES. THEY WILL BE IN CONTACT WITH TICKET HOLDERS BY EMAIL AND PHONE WITH INFORMATION ON SHOW CHANGES, AS DETAILS ARE CONFIRMED WITH THE PRODUCERS AND AGENTS.
